Sesame Noodles

This is one of my favorite recipes because if you want, you can add to it and make it a whole meal.  Usually I chop up a lot of fresh veggies and herbs to sprinkle on top, like red pepper, cabbage, cucumber, scallion, cilantro, unsalted peanuts and shredded carrot. You can also add leftover cooked chicken, shrimp or beef.  It’s great to bring to a party and everyone always asks for the recipe. Bonus: It’s good hot or cold.

Ingredients
1 box of linguini
6 tablespoons sesame oil
6 tablespoons honey
4 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
Pinch red pepper flakes, to taste

Instructions
In a small pan, bring the sesame oil and honey to a simmer
Add soy sauce and cook another minute.
Set aside
Meanwhile, cook linguini as directed, drain and put back in pot
Add the sauce and mix together
Eat hot or cold

Optional Garnishing
Finely chop or julienne some veggies like scallion, cucumber, pepper, cabbage, carrot, etc.
Add cooked chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu, etc.
Sprinkle with fragrant herbs like cilantro and Thai basil, sesame seeds, or chopped unsalted peanuts

Advanced Tip:
Swap out linguini for Japanese soba noodles (made with buckwheat) for authenticity and flair!
